Industrial Dehumidifier Calculator.

Uncover the power of the industrial dehumidifier calculator, an indispensable tool that aids in determining the optimal dehumidifier capacity for large-scale industrial environments, safeguarding against moisture-related issues and promoting efficient operations.

Introduction

Welcome to our "How to" blog on the Industrial dehumidifier calculator for storerooms and warehouses. Industrial dehumidification is crucial in maintaining optimal conditions for storage rooms, preventing moisture-related damage to goods, and ensuring their longevity. Using this calculator, you can determine the appropriate industrial dehumidifier sizing based on the specific conditions of your storage room...

After making an industrial dehumidification calculation, you must choose a suitable unit for your warehouse. Condensation or compressor-based systems are ideal for large-space drying. Based on the storeroom space, you can choose from wall mount, ceiling mount, ducted, portable, or floor-standing type dryers.

We will guide you through calculating the ideal industrial dehumidifier capacity, considering room volume, temperature, humidity, air exchange, and occupants. By accurately sizing your dehumidification system, you can effectively control humidity levels and create a conducive environment for storing your valuable items. This method o of commercial dehumidifier sizing will save your time and helps to increase accuracy.

Let's Calculate the industrial dehumidifier capacity for a storage room occupied by ten workers doing heavy physical work. The volume of the storeroom is 1000 cubic meters with indoor temperature and humidity is 22°C. This room needs to be dehumidified up to 50%RH. Outdoor conditions are 30°C & 80 %RH.

up to 200 cbm = 0.25
200 up to 2500 cbm = 0.2
2500 up to 5000 cbm = 0.18
5000 up to 10000 cbm = 0.15
10000 up to 25000 cbm = 0.12
25000 up to 40000 cbm = 0.1
40000 up to 60000 cbm = 0.08

How to do industrial dehumidifier calculation?

Step 1 - Enter the volume of the store that need commercial dehumidifier

First, enter the volume of the storage room in cubic meters. You can get the space volume by multiplying that room's length, width, and height. The dehumidifier capacity is directly proportionate to the space size. You need a more powerful unit to dehumidify large spaces.

For our example, the Storage room volume is 1000 Cu.m.

Step 2 - Mention indoor and outdoor humidity and temperature

We must specify indoor and outdoor conditions to calculate the absolute humidity. Enter the desired inside humidity and outside humidity %RH. Also, mention the current temperature in °C present at inside and outside the store room. Use a digital thermometer and hygrometer to measure these values.

Inside Temp. 22 °C and Outside Temp. 30 °C

Desired Humidity 50%RH and Outside humidity 80%RH.

Step 3 - Finding absolute humidity level

We need to find absolute humidity in g/kg from the Psychrometric chart for the given temperature and humidity. Draw a vertical line from the temperature till it intersects the humidity curve. Draw a horizontal line from the point of intersection to get absolute humidity. In our case, inside & outside absolute humidity is 8.258 & 21.663 g/kg, respectively.

Step 4- Select Air exchange per hour (ACH)

The air exchange cycle or ACH indicates the number that represents how many times the total air volume in the store room is entirely removed and replaced in an hour. Dehumidifier capacity is directly proportional to the ACH. ACH for different sizes of store rooms is mentioned in the table. So, for a 1000 cubic meters store, ACH is 0.2

Step 5 - Incorporating humidity due to occupant for dehumidifier sizing

For the accurate capacity calculation, we need to add humidity release from the body of people working in the store room. The amount of moisture contributed per hour in grams depends on the work the occupant is doing. For ten workers doing heavy physical work, moisture contributed by each worker will be 130 grams of water per hour.

Step 6- Final industrial dehumidifier sizing calculation

Click the "Click here for Dehumidifier Result" button to get the dehumidifier capacity in Liters/day. Please note that you must select the dehumidifier with calculated or more liter/day capacity at the storage room's climate conditions(22°C & 50 %RH). For the example we are discussing here, the total capacity of the dehumidifier calculated is 108.42 liters/day.
